St James
Join our St James School Family
Every child known. Every child supported to thrive.

Choosing a school is about more than finding a place for your child to learn. It is about finding a place where they will be known, supported, challenged and feel that they truly belong.

At St James, our size is one of our strengths. We know our students as individuals, their strengths, interests, friendships and learning needs and build genuine partnerships with our families.

    Strong Learning

We have high expectations for every student. Our evidence-informed approach combines explicit teaching, strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, purposeful assessment and engaging learning experiences. Student progress is carefully monitored so that teaching can respond to individual needs.

    Personalised Support

Knowing our students well means we can identify when they need additional support or greater challenge. Classroom teachers work alongside our Literacy and Numeracy Leaders, intervention teachers, Learning Support Officers and allied health professionals to support student growth.

    Genuine Belonging

Relationships are at the heart of St James. Our students are known and valued within a connected P–6 community where friendships, wellbeing, confidence and a sense of belonging are nurtured.

    Big Opportunities

Being part of a smaller school creates opportunities for children to participate, lead and discover their strengths. From sport and performing arts to student leadership, faith, community service, camps and special events, students are encouraged to get involved and have a go.

    Faith and Values

As a Catholic school within the Emmaus community, we are guided by the Gospel values of compassion, respect, service and hope. We welcome families into a community where children are encouraged to care for others, make a difference and grow academically, socially and spiritually.

    Come and experience St James

Every school can tell you what makes it special. We invite you to come and experience St James for yourself, meet our students and staff, visit our classrooms and discover what it means to be part of our community.
